Accepted Answer

No. You can explore everything without signing up. Right now your answers and checklists stay only on this device.

Question 3

Is APG a university or an agency?

Accepted Answer

No. APG is not a university and does not admit students or issue visas. Always confirm details with the university, uni-assist or the German embassy.

Question 4

Does APG cost anything?

Accepted Answer

Exploring, matching and the guides are free. Student Buddies are coming later and are not available yet.

Question 5

Can I study in English?

Accepted Answer

Yes — many Master's and some Bachelor's programmes are taught in English. Filter by language in Study Options.

Question 6

Is studying really free?

Accepted Answer

Most public universities charge no tuition, but you still pay a semester contribution each term. Some states and programmes charge fees, especially for non-EU students (for example Baden-Württemberg).

Question 7

How do APG matches work?

Accepted Answer

Matches come from fixed rules comparing your answers with programme records — not from AI guessing. Always check the official programme page.

Question 8

I already have a degree. Can I do another Bachelor's?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. Having a degree doesn't stop you applying for a second Bachelor's, though some universities have extra rules for second degrees.

Question 9

Is my certificate recognised in Germany?

Accepted Answer

Check the Anabin database and our recognition guide. Some school certificates need a foundation year (Studienkolleg) first.

Question 10

A document check required for applicants from some countries (such as China, India and Vietnam). If your country needs it, apply early.

English programmes usually ask for IELTS or TOEFL; German programmes usually ask for TestDaF, DSH or similar C1 level. Each programme sets its own minimum.

Accepted Answer

A central service many universities use to check international applications. Some universities use their own portals instead.

Question 13

Accepted Answer

For winter semester, many deadlines fall between March and July; summer semester deadlines are earlier. Every programme is different — check the official page.

Question 14

The AI Document Studio drafts a starting point from your details. Always edit it in your own words and check facts.

Question 15

How much money do I need to show?

Accepted Answer

Currently €992 per month (€11,904 for a year), usually in a blocked account. Confirm the current amount with the embassy.

Question 16

Are there scholarships?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for example DAAD and foundation scholarships. They're competitive, so apply early and check eligibility on the official sites.

Question 17

Can I work while studying?

Accepted Answer

Non-EU students can usually work 140 full or 280 half days a year. Rules can change, so check official sources.

Question 18

How do I get a student visa?

After admission and proof of funds, book an appointment at the German embassy or consulate in your country. Book early — slots fill fast.

Question 19

How do I find a room?

Accepted Answer

Apply for a student dorm early, search shared flats (WG) and never pay before seeing the room and signing a contract.

Question 20

What do I do when I arrive?

Accepted Answer

Register your address (Anmeldung), enrol at your university, sort health insurance and open a German bank account to unlock your blocked account money.

Question 21

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

While sign-in is switched off, your answers, checklists and trackers are kept only in your browser on this device. Clearing your browser removes them.

Question 22

Someone asked me to pay for an admission or job. Is that normal?

Accepted Answer

Be very careful. Public universities don't sell places, and real employers don't charge you to get a job.
